Pre-treatment
- Please inform your Master Medical Aestheticians if you have taken Accutane (oral acne medication) in the past year.
7-10 Days Prior to Treatment
- Cease application of all topical retinoids or Vitamin A derivative products
- Cease use of all Glycolic or chemical exfoliants
- Cease use of all mechanical exfoliants, such as scrubs
- Avoid facial waxing
- Avoid sun exposure without sunscreen. (Use UVA / UVB sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater or while in the sun.)
- Avoid tanning beds
Post-treatment
- Expect skin to appear pink for a few hours post-treatment
- Skin may be temperature sensitive for a few days post-treatment
- Avoid direct sunlight on the treated area
- Use a broad-spectrum UVA / UVB sunscreen of SPF 30 (or greater) for 1-2 weeks post-treatment
- Keep your skin well-hydrated with a protective moisturizer
- Avoid using abrasive products such as scrubs or exfoliating sponges for 7-10 days
- Avoid using products such as retinols and glycolic acid for 10 days
- Avoid picking or scratching the skin as it may cause scarring
- Avoid neurotoxin and dermal filler injections for at least 2 weeks post-treatment
- Vitamin C Serums may be resumed after 48-hours
- Expect peeling for 3-7 days
- Expect mild itching, irritation, redness, and increased sensitivity to the treated areas
- Expect purging of skin (i.e., small whiteheads)
- Hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) can occur to some skin types
- Customized post-treatment care will be provided by the Master Medical Aesthetician at the end of your treatment.
